The Foxrox Octron has already become a real classic. Two octaves can be added to the input signal: 1 octave lower and 1 octave higher than the input signal. All octaves can be mixed continuously with the direct signal. The pedal works completely analogue - the low octaves are generated synthetically, the high octave is generated by a ring modulator circuit. Like all analogue octavers, the Octron works monophonically, i.e. with single notes. The pedal acknowledges chords with chaotic pitches that jump back and forth. The tracking of the pedal is very good, even fast runs are no problem. With the high octave, the typical octave fuzz sounds à la Jimi Hendrix can be reproduced, the low octaves deliver the typical, grumpy analogue octaver sound (can be heard in the intro to "When Doves cry" by Prince). Mixing the various octave ranges is also very appealing; this makes it possible to create unusual, very interesting sounds. The internal trim pots of the previous model have been replaced by 2 switches accessible on the front panel.
