The MXR MC406 Custom Audio Electronics Buffer is a solid little stompbox that most guitarist don’t know they need until they try it. When you run your signal from your guitar to your amplifier though long cables or through a large range of effects pedals with varying impedances, there will be signal degradation due to increased capacitance. This added capacitance in your signal chain results in rolling off high frequencies, making your tone sound darker. Placing the MC406 Buffer in your signal chain matches impedances to prevent the input impedance of the cabling and pedals from loading the ouput of your guitar and trashing the tone.
The MXR MC-406 Buffer pedal can add up to +6dB of gain with the front-facing gain slider to make up for signal loss that can occur when combining effects with different impedence levels. Fine-tune signal recovery with Hi and Lo cut switches. The pedal features an extra unbuffered output for a tuner, separate effects chain or amplifier, and can be set to receive either a buffered or unbuffered signal. Features a 9VDC power output jack to provide power for another pedal.
