About Music Man

Since its introduction in 1976 the Music Man StingRay range has established itself as a fixture in the world of bass guitars. Little wonder: the "StingRays" were among the first active basses ever and thus enabled unprecedented tonal flexibility. The basses were designed by Mr Leo Fender personally, who co‑founded Music Man in the early 1970s after selling his company Fender to CBS. To this day the StingRays are regarded as genuine all‑rounders, offering great sound and fantastic build quality. For several years there has also been the variant called Sterling by Music Man alongside the Music Man basses made in USA, providing a more affordable entry into the world of StingRays. Legendary bassists such as Flea, Tim Commerford and John Deacon certainly didn't choose Music Man by chance.
