Adri's dream recorder
Dutch recorder maker Adriana Breukink is internationally recognised for her exclusive, hand-crafted recorders, which she makes as copies of historical instruments. With the development of the "dream recorder", she has achieved something very special: An impressive recorder series for all those who love the full and wide sound of Renaissance recorders. The characteristics of this flute are convincing - noble and expressive, it is ideally suited as a solo instrument for styles ranging from early music to jazz, and it also has all the characteristics required of an ensemble flute.
- Wide inner bore - for a wide ensemble sound (Renaissance type, after van Eyck recorders)
- Effortless response - over 2 octaves, curved windway
- Tactile tone holes - particularly easy to feel, therefore good grip
The Renaissance period is the heyday of large recorder ensembles. Renaissance recorders were constructed in such a way that their sound blended particularly well in the ensemble to create a homogeneous sound. Adri's dream recorder is based precisely on this design feature. The wide inner bore produces a powerful yet soft sound - the ideal concept for recorders that are played in large ensembles or in playing circles and group lessons. An Adri's dream recorder is particularly easy for children to feel, giving them a good grip. The flute has a two-octave range with normal baroque fingering. The instruments in this series are imaginative and unmistakable, the shape is modelled on medieval flutes and the instruments also have turned decorative rings. The surfaces are oiled with the finest vegetable oils.
Adriana Breukink: "I have fulfilled a dream of mine with this recorder: A beginner's recorder as a very special, valuable instrument - the beautiful colours and gold ornaments should also make this visually clear to the children. It accompanies its players for many years and through the entire recorder literature. It is also a recorder for advanced players. You can easily play the entire Renaissance and early Baroque literature on it, as well as Bach or completely different styles such as folk music. "
Mollenhauer - the breath is the soul...
The history of the MOLLENHAUER brand name begins with a cultural impulse that started with Johann Andreas Mollenhauer in 1822. This appears like "the breath, the soul of the flute", which lives and weaves sustainably through several generations to the present day as the "active cause, sometimes elastically adapting, sometimes powerfully".
A look back at the development of MOLLENHAUER recorder making over the past decades reveals outstanding results and successes. The advertising slogan "Lust auf Flöte", introduced in 2002, describes what MOLLENHAUER-Blockflötenbau's workshop has in common with recorder players all over the world: enthusiasm for the recorder and its music. It is clear that even today - 180 years after the company was founded - the same enthusiasm is still evident. Let this enthusiasm inspire you too!
