Melbourne Instruments was founded in 2019 in Melbourne, Australia, making it one of the younger manufacturers in the world of electronic musical instruments. The company combines modern technologies with a consistent hands-on approach. Its aim is to make complex functions as directly and intuitively accessible as possible – with hardware that feels like a real instrument in production and sound design.

Known for motorised rotary knobs

A particular hallmark of Melbourne Instruments is their motorised rotary knobs. They can automatically move to stored parameter positions, combining the advantages of digital recall with the direct tactile feel of classic hardware. Contactless optical sensors and configurable haptic feedback enable precise and immediate control.

From NINA to ROTO-CONTROL

Melbourne Instruments drew attention with the NINA, a twelve-voice analogue polyphonic synthesizer with a motorised control concept. DELIA followed as another synthesizer, while the ROTO-CONTROL transfers the manufacturer's technology into the world of DAWs, plugins and MIDI setups. In doing so, Melbourne Instruments targets musicians, producers and sound designers who want to use modern possibilities without having to give up direct control with real knobs.
