Martin Guitars HD-28 Standard Series Update 2025
The Martin HD-28 is a legendary acoustic guitar trusted by generations of players and played by countless icons across all genres. Its dreadnought body size and scalloped bracing deliver the rich, projected tone with strong bass, clear highs, and rich overtones that has defined acoustic music for nearly a century. The handcrafted solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides give the HD-28 a resonant, balanced voice for all playing styles. The bold herringbone inlay on the top and the ebony fingerboard with diamond inlays made of abalone give the guitar a touch of vintage inspiration. The satin neck with Golden Era (GE) Modified Low Oval profile, high-performance taper, and 25.4" scale length ensures effortless playability. With antique white binding, an ebony bridge with bone pins, and nickel open-gear tuners, the HD-28 combines timeless craftsmanship with modern versatility. Available in a variety of gloss finishes, it's a guitar you can rely on to unleash the artist in you.
Martin's redesigned Standard Series for 2025 improves sound, comfort, and style. The Sitka spruce GE, also used in the Modern Deluxe Series, provides vintage-inspired tone and sustain, while updates such as a redesigned neck profile, thinner fingerboard, and refined bridge and heel improve playability and aesthetics. Each guitar comes with a hard shell case.

The company C.F. Martin & Co., or simply Martin Guitars, can look back on a long company tradition and several innovative inventions. Chief among these is the development of the dreadnought shape and thus the steel‑string acoustic guitar as we know it today. With this, the family business, which spans over 175 years, has shaped the music world to this day. Innovations introduced by Martin that became standard in guitar making also include guitars with 14 frets clear of the body as well as X‑bracing. This allows greater stability and load-bearing capacity of the top (soundboard) thanks to strips glued to the inside of the top. To this day Martin guitars are renowned for their high quality and, of course, for their tone, and are very popular among guitarists. You can find a wide selection with us in the shop or in our branches ready to play. In our Martin Premium steel‑string acoustic guitars section you'll also find a selection of the finest acoustic guitar models from all Martin series.
The name of the US company Martin Guitars, actually C.F. Martin & Co., Inc., has stood for the highest quality and innovation in the construction of stringed instruments since 1833. When people think of Martin they immediately think of the acoustic guitar, since the company founder and German emigrant Christian Friedrich Martin gave the instruments the form we still know and appreciate today. Among the company's inventions are the special bracing (X‑bracing), the neck join at the 14th fret and popular body shapes such as the dreadnought guitar.
