This reproduction of a 1937 D-18 from the Authentic Series stays true to the original, featuring a hide glue construction and historically accurate details. The back and sides of this guitar are genuine mahogany, the top is Adirondack spruce, and it features an authentic bracing pattern from around 1937. In addition, it has been treated with the Vintage Tone System, which ages the wood to reproduce the sound of an old Martin. Martin's craftsmen are able to recreate the appealing visual aesthetic of a vintage guitar and reproduce the distinctive tone that was once the preserve of vintage instruments. Martin has now reintroduced a more precise body profile based on the dreadnought shapes from the early Golden Age of Martin history.
