The Lovepedal Purple Plexi effects pedal has been a staple for years when it comes to the "British Amp in a Box" sound. The current SE version not only has a different look, but also an extended circuit. The Drive pot not only changes the distortion intensity but also the sound character. With the drive pot turned down, you are in classic JTM-45 territory; in the middle range with the tone pot turned up, you can achieve the sounds of the Plexi era; and with the drive pot turned up and the tone pot turned down, the JCM-800 is released off the chain. You can easily morph through the different decades of British rock sounds! The pedal can be controlled very well by picking technique and the guitar's volume pot.
