Since 1986 the Gießen guitar manufactory Lakewood, founded by Martin Seeliger, has stood for the highest quality in guitar making. The steel‑string acoustic guitars shine with their finishing, superb playability and great tone. While Lakewood initially built almost exclusively Dreadnought models, there is now a wide selection of body shapes such as Jumbo and Grand Concert. Lakewood is very happy to respond to individual wishes via its Custom Shop, so that everyone gets what they want. In our Lakewood premium steel‑string acoustic guitars section you’ll find a selection of the finest Lakewood acoustics.
With extensive knowledge of the professional and artful construction of guitars, Lakewood Guitars in Gießen has been building high‑quality steel‑string acoustic guitars for over 35 years. Instruments are made with the utmost precision using new technologies alongside proven traditions, resulting in tone, aesthetics and construction that meet the highest standards.
In addition to the production models, the Lakewood Custom Shop is very popular. Here you can configure your own individual instrument with the help of the "Lakewood Guitar Designer". Lakewood is happy to support customers from planning through to construction of the instrument, offering valuable advice on the many specification options and helping you decide on your dream guitar. Since 2014 it has also been possible to have an instrument built entirely from native woods.
It quickly becomes clear that a very special "spirit" and a deep love of luthiery prevail at Lakewood. If you want to experience this for yourself, you can see for yourself on one of the Lakewood workshop tours in Gießen.
We are proud to work with Lakewood and have a large selection of Lakewood guitars ready for you.
