Founded at the end of the 1970s, Kramer Guitars were to become the "weapons of choice" for the glam metal scene around bands like Mötley Crüe, Ratt and Poison in the following decade. Thanks to their Superstrats, i.e. modified and customised Strat-style guitars, Kramer Guitars were even the best-selling electric-guitar brand in the world in 1985!
Their guitars are absolute workhorses without much frills and are characterised by classic Strat ingredients such as alder or ash bodies with a bolt-on maple neck. They are refined with humbucker pickups and Floyd Rose tremolos. In keeping with the spirit of the times, special attention is paid to the visual design of the guitars. Pastel and neon colours as well as animal prints dominate here.
Besides the music of that era, the related instruments have, of course, experienced a revival since the early 2000s. So if you're up for authentic 80s vibes, the instruments from Kramer's Original Collection, which carry on this legacy, are a great choice.
Of course Kramer Guitars are not just about nostalgia. The Modern Collection combines the craft expertise with the requirements of today's metal musicians for their instruments and also offers single-cut, V models and basses.
