Jackson Pro Series Spectra Bass SBP IV Firestorm Fade

Product information "Jackson Pro Series Spectra Bass SBP IV Firestorm Fade"

The Jackson Pro Series Spectra Bass is a finely crafted instrument that already carries its potential in its name – it is an instrument for professionals. A bold bass that stands more than a cut above the rest; a bass designed to offer the demanding and most experimental professional player the best. The best in style, tone, comfort and playability. The brand-new Pro Series Spectra Bass SBP IV features a unique multi-layered body of poplar/walnut/maple/walnut/mahogany finished in a refined Amber Flame lacquer, and a unique colour-matched 2x2 headstock with a subtle "J" logo.

The Spectra Bass's offset body was also designed with professional players in mind. It features a larger upper horn which distributes the weight evenly across the instrument for perfect balance and playing comfort. The neck-through, five-piece maple/walnut/maple/walnut/maple neck with graphite reinforcement provides ultimate stability and impressive sustain, while the Speed Neck contour and the 12"–16" compound radius of the caramelised jatoba fretboard with 24 jumbo frets and oval dark mother-of-pearl inlays offer outstanding playability.

The Pro SBP IV offers a full tonal palette for demanding and progressive bassists. The Nordstrand SB4 single-coil soapbar bridge and neck pickups with Alnico V magnets deliver an all-round crushing and distinctive tone with brighter, cleaner and more punchy characteristics. An active 3-band EQ, a two-way toggle switch to bypass or activate the active circuit for the 3-band EQ, a blend control and a volume control provide a wide range of tonal options. The two-way toggle prevents loss of sound due to a dead battery by bypassing the active circuitry and makes it easy to get the bass's sound without using the battery. An additional three-way toggle selects a specific mid-frequency range for even more precise tonal control.
This four-string bass is also fitted with a Jackson single-string hardtail bridge, which improves individual note response and sustain.

About Jackson

Jackson Guitars arose from Grover Jackson's takeover of the well-known company Charvel's Guitar Repair in 1978. The collaboration with then Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads in 1980 resulted in the Rhoads body shape still available today and also marked the start of Jackson Guitars. The timing was perfect: heavy metal enjoyed a heyday in the 1980s and the trend (sparked by Eddie Van Halen) was for so-called super- or powerstrats. These are guitars that are visually more or less based on the classic ST shape but fitted with more modern and stylistically appropriate components like humbuckers or Floyd Rose tremolos. Jackson soon earned a reputation as a forge of first-class, USA-built high-end custom instruments, seen in the hands of many well-known guitarists of the era. With the musical changes of the 1990s, Jackson Guitars began opening factories in the Far East to offer their instruments in more affordable price ranges. Since 2002 both Jackson and Charvel have been part of the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.
