Ibanez Soundgear
The basses in the Ibanez Soundgear series stand out for their exceptionally good playability – a well-balanced body and the slim neck allow for fatigue-free playing even over extended periods. Available in a range of specifications and price points.
The Soundgear bass, with its slim, smooth body and super-comfortable slim neck, has been a favourite among progressive bassists for almost three decades. The latest development of this iconic instrument is the introduction of the new PowerSpan Dual Coil (PDC) pickups and the new 3-band EQ with Power Tap switch. The feel and appearance remain the same, but the sound takes this classic instrument into a new era. Ibanez is proud to announce significant upgrades for the SR300 series.
The PowerSpan dual-coil pickups with exposed pole pieces deliver a stronger signal and increase the response of the higher frequencies without compromising the low end. The result is a tone rich in harmonic detail and dynamic expression.
The 3-band EQ works in conjunction with a coil-tap switch for maximum control over a wide variety of professional bass tones. The Tap mode (single-coil) produces a punchy, dynamic sound with outstanding articulation. The Series mode (humbucking) delivers a full, warm tone, while the Power Tap mode offers the best of both worlds – combining the clarity of a single coil with the fat low end of a humbucker.
Alongside the new enhanced tonal features, the great staples of the SR series remain: mahogany body for the SR300E and maple body for the SR370E, SR 5-piece maple/rosewood neck, Accu-Cast B120 bridge. All these specifications combine to create a truly impressive bass.

The Japanese instrument maker Ibanez can look back on a long tradition in guitar and bass construction. Although Ibanez initially made a name for itself with idiosyncratic copies of traditional models from makers like Gibson and Fender, its own series gradually emerged, such as the Iceman, JEM, Artcore and RG. In the 1980s the company became particularly well known in the heavy sector with instruments that stood out for their modern features, distinctive design and excellent playability. Innovations such as 7- and 8-string guitars, born from fruitful collaborations with artists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Meshuggah, further helped to establish Ibanez's strong reputation. Today the manufacturer offers an extensive range, from entry-level guitars and basses to exotic Custom Shop models. In addition, Ibanez also impresses in the field of effects and amplifiers, as the classic TS9 Tubescreamer proves. Here you'll find a comprehensive selection of guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects and accessories from Ibanez.
