The Ibanez AZ series guitars are a contemporary interpretation of classic ST-style guitars, a high-tech version for the 21st century. Ibanez has given the AZ2204NW-SFB a whole host of latest detail improvements: the Ibanez T1802 tremolo by Gotoh is a revised version of the trusted vintage ST tremolo – steel saddle and rattle-free tremolo lever, low-friction 2-bolt mounting. The neck is made of roasted maple, a heat-treated wood with the stability and sound of tonewood that has been aged for years, the fretboard is made of rosewood, alder body, deep cutaways allow easy access to the high positions. The Gotoh locking tuners are adjustable in height, and the tuners can be staggered without any problems. Ibanez collaborated with Seymour Duncan on the pickups, resulting in the new Fortuna pickups, which, in combination with the Dyna-Mix 9 circuit, allow for numerous switching and sound variations.
