The new NEO series features a lightweight plywood construction with generous bracing, resulting in an extremely sturdy cabinet. The inside of the enclosure is lined with damping material to absorb high frequencies from the back of the speaker, preventing them from escaping through the port and interfering with the high frequencies from the front of the speaker. This leads to a smooth and pleasant top-end response. A metal grille and an extremely rugged cabinet finish with metal corners provide a durable enclosure that withstands heavy use and keeps its good looks over time.
The new NEO IV series includes custom neodymium woofers developed and manufactured by GK. Only die-cast frames are used, offering greater durability and power handling than the cheaper and more common stamped-frame constructions. The voice coils are made from edge-wound aluminium ribbon wire, making the speaker far more efficient and capable of handling more power compared with the more common round wire.
This is the most advanced cabinet Gallien-Krueger has ever released. It builds on earlier models and ensures that every detail has been considered. GK has designed its speakers and enclosures from the ground up to deliver the best possible performance for bassists worldwide when paired with their heads.

The success story began in 1968 with a self-built amplifier and the then-unknown guitarist Carlos Santana, who took the first Gallien-Krueger amp with him to the Woodstock Festival the following year. To this day company founder and mastermind Robert Gallien has designed and brought to market numerous high-quality, innovative and legendary bass amplifiers. In doing so, however, he never modelled himself on other products or let anything divert him from his vision, but always sought his own, better solutions.
