About MonoNeon
Bassist MonoNeon is a phenomenon: virtuosic, original — and equipped with an inimitable sense of humour that is also reflected in his music. You can hear his bass licks across many genres, from Southern Soul and avant‑garde to funk and hip hop. He has worked with artists such as Prince, recorded the song Making a Movie with Ne‑Yo and won a Grammy for Best Rap Album with Nas. Naturally, MonoNeon also has some Fender favourite basses, which are often especially colourful. On YouTube he repeatedly publishes new furious sessions and jams with his basses.
Striking and modern
The MonoNeon Jazz Bass V is a real eye‑catcher and stands out visually from other basses. Matching the neon‑yellow urethane finish on the body, the headstock and pickguard are painted orange. The one‑piece roasted maple neck is fitted with 22 frets and has a comfortable compound radius of 10–14 inches. The fretboard is adorned with elegant white Pearloid block inlays. Custom‑wound Fender Fireball 5‑String Bass Humbuckers deliver a powerful, punchy tone. The active 18‑volt preamp with a 3‑band equaliser makes the bass so sonically versatile that you can play almost any style with it. The Fender HiMass Bridge improves resonance and extends sustain. And because a touch of glamour suits such an extraordinary bass, it was crowned with gold‑plated hardware.
