Product information "Fender LTD Custom Shop 59 Stratocaster RW Relic HSS Daphne Blue Metallic #CZ584755"
In 1954 the Fender Stratocaster finally hit the market after a long development period. The instrument looked like no guitar before it: the body was curvier and more flowing than the Telecaster's to increase playing comfort, the new headstock was a little reminiscent of the old Bigsby headstocks, the output jack was elegantly recessed into the body side instead of mounted on the top, and the Strat came equipped with three single-coil pickups. The guitar featured an ash body and a bolt-on maple neck and was initially only available in 2-Colour-Sunburst or White Blonde finishes. At first it wasn't a chart-topper, but gradually the Strat grew in popularity and became an integral part of music history.
Originally the Stratocaster was only available in the two colours mentioned above, but from 1957 the first Custom Colours were introduced, allowing customers to order a more colourful guitar for an extra charge. In 1959 the Strat received a facelift along with the Telecaster: bodies were now made from alder and the maple necks were fitted with rosewood fretboards, which produced a warmer overall tone. New colours were also added to the existing Custom Colours.
The Fender Custom Shop has made it its mission to study the high-quality vintage Strats of the past and recreate them down to the smallest detail. Here we have a very special Custom Shop one-off for you, modelled on a Stratocaster from Fender's heyday:
The Fender LTD Custom Shop 59 Stratocaster RW Relic HSS Daphne Blue Metallic is a classic ST-style electric guitar with a two-piece alder body. Alder has been used on original Stratocaster guitars since the late 1950s and provides the basis for the perfect vintage sound. The body wood was hand-selected to ensure particularly light weight and thus improve playing comfort. The aged maple neck with rosewood fretboard is shaped in an 11/56 Off-Center V profile in the style of the late '50s and features a compound fretboard radius of 7.25" - 9.5", offering the perfect compromise between vintage feel and modern comfort and making fretting easier for your left hand. The guitar is fitted with a modern H-S-S pickup configuration consisting of a Seymour Duncan SH-1B at the bridge, a Fender Custom Shop Fat '60s RWRP single-coil Strat in the middle and a Fender Custom Shop Fat '60s RWRP single-coil Strat at the neck. Other features include Fender Vintage-Style tuners, Aged White control knobs, a Fender Custom Shop Vintage Synchronized Tremolo and a three-ply mint green pickguard.
This model is finished in striking Daphne Blue Metallic. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the wood to resonate particularly well and enables the finish to age more attractively. The guitar is nicely dinged, dented and even a little scratched. One of the most attractive features of this relic level is the worn neck — you'll feel the raw wood under your hand, giving you the comfort of your favourite pair of well-broken-in trainers. As soon as you pick up this Relic you'll feel like you've been playing it for years.
The Fender LTD Custom Shop 59 Stratocaster RW Relic HSS Daphne Blue Metallic is delivered with a certificate of authenticity in a luxurious original Fender Custom Shop case with brown Tolex and dark red interior, so you can safely transport your new dream guitar and protect it from external influences.
