Packed with player-oriented features and iconic style, the Wolfgang Special Striped is a very appealing, punchy-sounding instrument born to rock. It features an alder body with an arched top, a beefy graphite-reinforced maple neck and a fast ebony fretboard with a 12"-16" compound radius and 22 jumbo frets, enabling aggressive riffs and blistering leads.
A neck-mounted truss-rod adjustment wheel also allows quick and easy neck-relief tweaks — a feature guitar techs will be thankful for. The crystal-clear, specially developed EVH Wolfgang humbucking pickups are mounted directly to the body and provide a fat, sparkling tone and near-endless sustain for power chords and melodic lines. Every component of this guitar has been selected and positioned for fast playing. The volume control enables quick, violin-like volume swells with ease, while the tone control is set to resist turning — preventing unwanted changes when your picking hand flies wildly across the strings. The rock-solid Floyd Rose locking tremolo bridge, combined with the Floyd Rose locking nut, ensures precise tuning no matter how crazy your whammy-bar technique gets. The EVH D-Tuna tunes to Drop D and back with absolute precision.
