Product information "EVH 5150 Iconic Series 80W EL34 Head"
EVH has brought legendary amp designer James Brown (no, not the one with the "Sex Machine"!! ), who created the legendary 5150 amp, on their team. The result is a flexible 2-channel tube top, the 5150 EL-34 Black from the ICONIC series with extensive features. It offers a clean/overdrive (switchable) with its own 3-band EQ and a gain/burn channel with 3-band EQ. The amp covers everything from crystal-clear clean to rich crunch and heavy high gain. The master section features a volume boost, resonance, and presence controls. A global digital reverb is also included. The top delivers 80 watts of power, and the speaker mute allows the amp to be silenced—a balanced XLR output with speaker simulation ensures stress-free recording sessions.

Electric guitars from the master himself
Welcome to the world of EVH, the brand that represents the legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen, known as one of the most influential guitarists of all time, created EVH to reflect his spirit of innovation and his love of music. Eddie Van Halen stands not only for brilliant and epoch‑making guitar solos, but also for the legendary instruments on which he showcased his groundbreaking playing.
Early in his career he built his own guitars, like the legendary Frankenstein. Later he teamed up with Peavey to develop the groundbreaking 5150 guitar amp. A few years ago Eddie entered into a cooperation with Fender, which resulted not only in the now third version of the 5150 guitar amplifier but also in various iterations of his perfectly conceived and crafted Wolfgang electric guitars.

Sounds great, just make sure to pair it with a cab and speaker that is not too bright and it is awesome! The noisegate could have been more effective and it would had been nice if it would work on both channels, not just the red channel. The green channel with the overdrive engaged is really good, so that overdrive switch should have been footswitchable, but I guess that would have made the amp too good ;) Red channel is just crazy amounts of gain but a lot of fun to play. I also have a 6505 to compare with, and I think this 5150 iconic is better, even though the "internet warriors" is complaining about the hybrid preamp circuit but don't fall for that, this amp rules at this pricepoint Recommended buy!
