Evans has shaped the sound of drummers around the world for over 60 years. With the introduction of the first synthetic drumhead in 1956 by Chick Evans, the brand set new standards in terms of progress and development that changed the drumming world forever. By using polymer film instead of conventional leather, a head was created that offered a surprisingly similar sound to natural skins while at the same time being resistant to temperature and humidity. Nowadays real animal skins are only used for percussion instruments like congas or bongos, with Evans having laid the foundation for today's industry standard.
Driven by its own ambition to produce the most technologically advanced drumheads in the world, the brand can point to further innovations such as the patented UV coating process or the Level-360 technology, and for more than 60 years has focused on manufacturing high-quality heads that help drummers solve their sonic problems.
