A special feature of the new EC2S heads is Evans' newly developed Sound Shaping Technology. This technology makes it possible to provide each head with customised damping according to its size. The damping material is not glued on, but is incorporated directly into the skin and varies in thickness and width depending on the skin diameter. This customised damping gives the new EC2S heads more tone, sustain and a crisp attack. In addition, the new EC2S heads have a greater tuning range and dynamic range.
