A technician at a PA company in Kalamazoo/Michigan USA mixed up the colour code of a resistor while experimenting with a distortion circuit and the result was one of the most legendary distortion pedals of all time. Almost every guitarist in the hard rock and metal scene of the 80s and 90s had the beastly rodent in the black sheet steel housing in their fleet. With the Flatiron pedal, the New York cult company Electro Harmonix presents its interpretation of the legendary OP amp circuit. The Flatiron version has an extended control range - rough, classic low gain sounds are just as possible as the well-known, beastly distortion/fuzz board. A good alternative at a favourable price.

cette flatiron est censée être un clone de la célèbre proco rat sauf que....je trouve le résultat certes proche mais néanmoins moins bon. le son est un peu plus bassy, plus dark mais sans pour autant être meilleur et de plus le son me semble moins dynamique. en conclusion, produit pas mauvais en soi mais pas meilleur que l'original et comme le prix est presque le même, c'est à se demander laquelle des 2 acheter au bout du compte. si on est collectionneur de rat et de ses clones pourquoi pas mais à ce compte là, autant voir la mooer black secret qui m'avait fait une meilleure impression pour en plus moins cher...
