Fifty years ago the market for effect pedals wasn't as large as it is today. Instead of a multitude of pedal makers on the internet, you had to visit your local guitar shop and choose from two or three brands they stocked. DOD was almost always one of them.
Named after co-founder David O. DiFrancesco, DOD brought some of the first pedals to market in the middle of that golden era. It wasn’t long before models like the DOD 250 Overdrive Preamp and the DOD 201 Phasor were seen with some of the biggest names in the electric-guitar scene.
The next revolution in guitar sound came with the explosive development of digital signal processing (DSP). DOD answered that call by founding the DigiTech brand. Great little pedal that shines in it's simplicity. With the gain maxed out it can get into fuzz territories whilest in low gain it works great as an transparent overdrive.
Lange habe ich nach einem bezahlbaren 250 Overdrive gesucht, da die letzten Auflagen immer wieder schnell vergriffen waren und das ständige Heckmeck um die Marke DOD/ Digitech diese Pedale immer gesuchter und teurer machten. Jetzt gibt es aber endlich wieder ein Re-Issue des gesuchten Overdrives und ich bin glücklich mit dem Teil. Der Sound ist mal was anderes als die üblichen Vertreter. Der Preis ist nicht unbedingt ein Schnäppchen für so ein einfaches Pedal, aber definitiv noch im Rahmen im Gegensatz zu den horrenden Gebrauchtpreisen. Das Einzige, was ich bemängeln könnte, wäre dass die Backplate aus Plastik ist. Macht zwar einen sehr stabilen Eindruck, aber bei dem Preis hätte ich doch ein komplettes Metallgehäuse erwartet.
A classic pedal that should be in everyone’s collection. And it’s a classic for a reason. Harmonically rich overdrive that goes from boost to distortion. A well-made pedal, with DOD’s legendary value for money.
Ich muss sagen einen Tollen Sound und Klangfarbe wūrde ich wieder Kaufen.
Macht zwischen einer Humbucker-Gitarre und meinem Mesa Boogie Subway Blues eine sehr gute Figur. Chrunchig, erinnert mich an die alten AC/DC-Scheiben.
