With the IR-2, Boss has packed a sophisticated amp simulator and IR loader into a compact pedal. Included are 11 high-quality amp simulations (various amp classics and Boss originals) and 11 first-class IRs created by Celestion Digital. As with a real amp, the amp simulations can be quickly edited using rotary potentiometers. An ambience effect, which provides natural spatial depth, is also added, and external effect pedals can be integrated via a mono/stereo FX loop. You can switch back and forth between 2 amp/IR settings using the footswitch. The IR-2 offers a wide range of applications: as a DI solution for pedal boards, as a DI application for recording (via the USB interface) or as a convenient headphone amp via the mini-jack headphone output. IRs from third-party providers can also be loaded via USB; the necessary software is available for download on the Boss homepage. Both the amp and IR sections can be deactivated if required. The IR-2 pedal impresses with its premium, authentic sound and simple, intuitive operation.

Kenn mich nicht gut aus mit IRs, Amppedale etc. Ich habe mir das Pedal gekauft da ich in einer Band nur mit Kopfhörer spielen kann. Den IR-2 in mein Pedalboard integriert und direkt in die PA. Was dann da aus dem Kopfhörer kam war extrem überzeugend und schön. Freue mich das Teil weiter zu erkunden. Klare Kaufempfehlung. Bei BOSS machst du sowieso nix falsch, die Pedale sind immer gut. ;-)
Ich habe mir den IR-2 bestellt, weil ich viel über ihn gehört habe und da wollte ich ihn gerne selber mal testen! Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht und der BOSS IR-2 ist jetzt meine Backup Lösung! Klein, klingt super und die Verarbeitung ist in BOSS Qualität! Hier bekommst man was für sein Geld! 6 Amps in einer Kiste die mit einem 9Volt Block funktioniert! Besser geht’s nicht! Ich habe mir meine IR‘s problemlos aufgespielt und ich kann den IR-2 nur empfehlen!

Für mich ist der IR2 ein gelungenes Übungstool. Ich kann mit dem Pedal wenn ich es ans Mischult anschliesse, schön über Kopfhörer zum Playback spielen. Und das mit wirklich sehr gut klingenden Sounds. Das ist mein erster Ausflug in die Welt der Ir s. Um auf die schnelle E Gitarrenaufnahmen zu machen ist es bestens geeignet. Live würde ich es persönlich nie einsetzen, da ich in dem Bereich nicht auf meinen Amp verzichten möchte .

De IR-2 klinkt thuis (op de Mac) super maar live op de repetitie vond ik het wat minder. Leek iets met de mids te zijn ?.. Voordelen pedal : 9v, 2 onafhankelijke kanalen, pakt niet veel plaats op pedalenbak, goede interface, sound AC30 bleef zeer goed/bruikbaar bij het terugdraaien van volumeknop gitaar. Super pedal voor simpele home-recording. Nadelen : staat naast/los van mijn bestaande amp waardoor live andere instellingen nodig zijn voor mijn pedalenkoffer
Mich überzeugt hier das Konzept. Einfach, logisch und trotzdem vielseitig. Keine komplizierten Menüs, in die man erst abtauchen muss. Klar bieten Kemper und Co mehr Sounds und vor allem Effekte, aber das brauche ich alles nicht wirklich. In Verbindung mit meinem kleinen Pedalboard macht es schnell das, was es soll. In bewährter Boss-Qualität. Klare Empfehlung.
