Playability
KeyStep 37 mk2 features a velocity-sensitive 37-key Slimkey keyboard with Aftertouch for expressive control despite its compact dimensions. Pitch and Mod strips allow intuitive real-time shaping, while integrated chord and scale modes make discovering new musical phrases easier.
Idea machine
KeyStep 37 mk2 is both a generative idea machine and a controller. The polyphonic step sequencer, the 16-mode arpeggiator, pattern chaining and creative functions like Mutate work together. Create a riff with the arpeggiator, turn it into a sequence and then transform it — anything is possible. Mutate generates spontaneous variations, octaves can be changed, note lengths adjusted, rests added, extra notes overdubbed or bend and wheel automations recorded. Ideas are kept in constant motion.
Four knobs for everything essential
Four dedicated encoders provide direct access to arpeggiator, sequencer and Mutate parameters, enabling a performance-focused workflow with minimal menu navigation. They can also be freely assigned to custom MIDI CC or CV/Gate destinations.
Hardware connectivity
Compatible with virtually any hardware. In addition to USB-C MIDI, MIDI DIN, Sync I/O and pedal input, KeyStep 37 mk2 offers four CV outputs – Pitch, Gate, Mod 1 and the new Mod 2. These can be flexibly assigned to Velocity, Aftertouch, Mod Wheel or other parameters to control modular or other hardware precisely and expressively.

Arturia was founded in 1999 in Grenoble, France, and initially made its name with software emulations of legendary vintage synthesizers. In combination with specially adapted controller keyboards, Arturia created an excellent integration of software and hardware — the V Collection software suite has for years been the industry standard for virtual synthesizers.
