The "Klavier-Horizonte" series is intended as a motivating supplementary repertoire to common piano method books. The varied pieces offer a lot of sonic experience with a comparatively low technical level. Stylistically the music is oriented towards pop, film music as well as impressionism and minimal music. In terms of timbre and technical basics these pieces provide good preparation for the more demanding music of popular contemporary composers or for songbooks and popular film-music collections. "Klavier-Horizonte - Band 2" is suitable in difficulty (Horizon 2-3) for students from the 3rd and 4th year of tuition. The Horizon playing levels refer to a 9-level system (H1: very early beginners, H2: beginners, H3: advanced beginners, H4: early intermediate, H5: intermediate, H6: advanced intermediate, H7: early advanced, H8: advanced, H9: very advanced).
In "Band 2" the technical skills are expanded step by step within the easy playing levels. For example, the required hand span slowly increases. Students should therefore be physically able from the "advanced beginner" level (H3) to reach sevenths and octaves. The compositions are arranged progressively. As the book progresses new keys are explored, this time with up to three accidentals. The last two pieces in the book already lead towards the "early intermediate" level (H4). The comparatively low technical effort leaves more room for expression and enjoyment of playing. Based on previous teaching experience the pieces are very popular with children and adults alike and are perfect for performing at family events or for friends. The audio examples serve as a practical learning aid to follow expression and correct articulation and are also a true pleasure as a "soundtrack" on the go.
