It's a wonderful experience for me when the parents of my pupils tell me: 'My child practises your pieces daily and willingly.' This collection of various easy to moderately easy piano compositions aims to motivate and to combine fun and learning.
'Piano black on white' convinces with sonorous harmony and melody as well as a variety of interesting rhythmic facets. These works are inspired by a wide range of modern musical styles such as rock, pop, electro as well as classical and folk, from J. S. Bach to Nils Frahm. Music that brings great joy and is an excellent supplementary teaching resource. Sound shaping as well as finger technique and sense of rhythm are important aspects of this collection. The pieces also invite analysis, to better understand harmonies, rhythms and the use of musical devices such as arpeggios, etc.
Own improvisations over certain passages of some pieces (e.g. 4 Chords, Quattro) are also easily possible and greatly encourage your own innate musical language and musicality. From these insights your first original compositions can emerge. That's brilliant! This especially promotes an understanding of music that, in my opinion, is far too often missing in lessons.
