Children's Hands at the Piano: Cheerful children's songs for 10 to 20 fingers – from age 3

The easy introduction to playing the piano for preschool children!

“Children's Hands at the Piano” enables children from the age of 3 with no prior knowledge, alone or with a companion, to play beautiful pieces from the very beginning. By singing the lyrics together, melodies and rhythm are learned more quickly and, above all, in a more playful way. This makes implementation at the piano easier, promotes the joy of making music together and makes the beginnings at the piano a great pleasure for the children!

The approach

In the children's part the notes have been replaced by picture notes/symbols and possible "confusions" in the notation, such as bar lines and time signatures, have been deliberately omitted. Only the length of the notes is distinguished by a "note with a stem" and a "note without a stem". On the page with the accompaniment the respective piece (in the four-hand arrangement) is additionally notated once more (the notation pages as well as the melody and accompaniment parts are swapped – this serves to facilitate changes of hand position and seating). Some useful aids included in the book also simplify learning the piano keys within the 5-finger range (treble and bass clefs) and thus already prepare the way for reading true notation. The little pianists are therefore gently encouraged and motivated, and introduced to the material with the right amount of fun.
