When you perform with the XDJ‑AZ you become one with the decks. It adopts the layout and feel of the CDJ‑3000 multi‑player and the DJM‑A9 mixer. To access brand‑new tracks and your up‑to‑date music library, the all‑in‑one system features built‑in Wi‑Fi®. This lets you play tracks from cloud‑based libraries anytime, anywhere and perform with up‑to‑date performance data such as hot‑cue information. You can also play tracks from Beatport’s huge catalogue. Combined with the unit’s multi‑device support, this gives you the flexibility to use music from different media types.

4‑deck playback lets you get even more creative in your sets by adding extra layers to your mix. The capacitive 10.1‑inch touchscreen makes track selection and menu navigation easier than ever. The XDJ‑AZ adopts the layout and operation of the flagship CDJ‑3000 and DJM‑A9 to provide an intuitive experience. Playing on this system gives you the feeling of being one with the decks, enabling even more creative performances. Full‑size jog wheels that feel just like those on the CDJ‑3000 make pitch‑bending and scratching on the XDJ‑AZ incredibly smooth. The mixer section follows the intuitive layout of the DJM‑A9, with all controls positioned to maximise playability. It also features user‑friendly buttons for assigning beat effects so you can express yourself through the music. With CloudDirectPlay you can access your cloud‑based rekordbox library directly from the XDJ‑AZ. You can use the latest versions of your playlists and performance data, including hot‑cue information, and you can update directly from the unit. This not only creates a seamless DJ experience but also allows you to prepare everything solely on this all‑in‑one system.

StreamingDirectPlay compatibility

With Beatport Streaming support, the StreamingDirectPlay function enables direct playback of tracks from Beatport’s vast dance‑music library and the latest genre‑specific playlists. You even get analysed data such as waveform, BPM and grid information to make it easy to incorporate new and varied music into your sets.

Extensive device and DJ‑app compatibility

You can not only play tracks from USB drives but also connect a PC/Mac or mobile device for DJing. If you want more individuality, you can play audio from external devices such as turntables and samplers. The XDJ‑AZ has a USB‑Type‑C port for connection to PC/Mac, allowing use with rekordbox for Mac/Windows in Performance mode or Serato DJ Pro*1. No paid subscription is required for either. If you use the Wi‑Fi® connection for rekordbox Link Export, you can access tracks from a PC/Mac or mobile device without plugging in cables.

The XDJ‑AZ’s capacitive 10.1‑inch touchscreen not only provides more visual information but also makes operating the unit easier. Up to 13 tracks can be displayed at once — a huge increase from the 8 tracks on the XDJ‑XZ — helping you see more of your music and find songs faster. Other advanced features include the playlist bank, where you can register up to four playlists for quick access. Touch‑preview allows you to preview tracks in playlists without loading them. With Touch‑Cue you can listen to the next section of tracks currently playing on the deck. All this makes track selection fast and smooth. With the option to show the status of the selected performance pad and Beat‑FX settings simultaneously, all the information you need for your performance is immediately available.

Wireless monitoring with extremely low latency using SonicLink‑compatible DJ headphones

Thanks to the built‑in SonicLink transmitter, wireless monitoring with extremely low latency is possible with the professional DJ headphone HDJ‑F10. A single button press pairs the XDJ‑AZ with the headphones, letting you move freely in the DJ booth or on stage without a cable getting in the way. SonicLink is AlphaTheta’s proprietary wireless technology offering extremely low latency. It transmits audio 20 times faster than the commonly used Bluetooth® SBC codec, ensuring you hear no delay when pressing a button or scratching with the jog wheels.

If you’re familiar with the XDJ‑XZ you’ll notice several improvements in the XDJ‑AZ’s design. Integration of a 32‑bit ESS Technology D/A converter has significantly improved sound quality, resulting in a clear and dynamic sound that can impress in large venues and clubs. The 3‑band master EQ lets you tailor the output to the venue’s acoustics. The XDJ‑AZ also features a dedicated button for mixer settings so you can quickly check and change the mixer status on the screen.
