Tambour Sticks
The Baton is an alternative to the Baton and is used by conductors and drum majors in music ensembles and marching bands in order to be seen from any position when there are a larger number of musicians. In military marching music, the baton has a long tradition and is of great importance. It allows the drum major to set the tempo and rhythm of the march and bring the entire ensemble into harmony. Even though the Baton Major's commands differ somewhat in different areas of the country, the Baton is usually held with the right hand. His figures should be executed as precisely as possible to determine the direction of the march, the step and the posture of the marching band and to make it cleaner and more synchronous. It is also used to signal the beginning, any pauses and the end of each piece of music. A tambour stick is usually made of wood or plastic and is about 80 to 130 cm long. It has a handle with a ball and a tip that are usually chrome-plated but can be made of plastic or metal. The batons are decorated with a colorful cord and two tassels at the tip, the colors usually correspond to the club colors of the respective platoon.
