On Top of the Rock!

Products in the Markbass New York series are very compact yet at the same time powerful electric bass speaker cabinets that are ideal as small club speakers but also fit into existing setups as an addition or as a secondary speaker — New York style – On Top of the Rock. A second plausible explanation for the name "New York" is the many musicians in New York City who often get around the hectic city traffic by taxis, subways and buses and therefore depend on transportable equipment.

The undamped speaker enclosures are made from plywood and covered in black velvet. So that the bass pressure can escape from the inside, the speakers have been given rear bass-reflex ports. For safe transport to the event location the New York-series cabinets are fitted with eight hard-plastic corners and an aluminium grille. Behind the grille, depending on the specification, one or two neodymium drivers in various sizes and a piezo tweeter do the work.

The Markbass New York series, similar to the Markbass Traveler series, is aimed at players who are looking for powerful bass speaker cabinets with reduced weight and therefore better handling.
