Palmer PDI03 Speaker Simulator · Recording Tool
The Palmer Speaker Simulator PDI03 combines load impedance, signal splitter and DI box especially designed for guitars. All functions are optimized for live and recording applications. Instead of a speaker the PDI-03 is directly connected to the amplifier output, the signal is no longer taken with a microphone, but fed by a particular filter stage directly into the mixing consoles, tape machines, etc.. This can especially be helpful when amps without master volume are fully driven into power amp distortion, the vexing volume issue is excluded. The filter simulates the characteristics of various speakers and cabinet types: open 2 x 12'' combo or 4 x 12'' box with their typical bass pressure and stack with "V" setting of an equalizer, "American" or "English" speakers and ultra / Bright. The volume of the nine possible combinations can be set individually. Both filter and line out level are adjustable effects devices. Speaker for live monitoring are connected via the Thru jack, the reactive load is automatically switched off. The maximum input power is 100 W without speakers.
