Product information "Rode Interview PRO"
Digital handheld transmitter
Wireless microphone and handheld recorder in one: the elegant, 26 cm long reportage microphone can not only be paired with any current RØDE Wireless receiver – currently this includes Wireless ME, Wireless GO II, Wireless PRO, RØDECaster Duo, RØDECaster Pro II and Streamer X – but also offers an on-board recording function with its own REC button and a built-in 32 GB memory for 40 hours of uncompressed audio. The sound quality of the Interview PRO is first-rate: crystal-clear, undistorted and with excellent speech intelligibility.
The microphone capsule
The Interview PRO uses a high-quality condenser capsule, genre-typical with an omnidirectional polar pattern. The advantage: the microphone exhibits no proximity effect, i.e. it does not show the pronounced bass boost at close microphone distance. In practice the distance may therefore vary during recording without drastically changing the sound. As an "omni" the microphone is sensitive to sound from all directions; unlike a microphone with a cardioid polar pattern it does not always have to be perfectly aimed at the sound source – the Interview PRO is extremely forgiving if the interviewee moves their head.
GainAssist technology
Very helpful is GainAssist, an intelligent automatic level control that continuously adapts the internal gain setting in the microphone to the respective sound source. This protects you from surprises and ensures the audio signal is always transmitted or recorded at a healthy level with optimal intelligibility.
On-board recording
The Interview PRO offers recording directly in the microphone and for this purpose an internal 32 GB audio memory that is enough for more than 40 hours. Recordings are made uncompressed as WAV files. Recording is started and stopped with the REC button on the back of the microphone. When recording is active the button lights red. Below the REC button is a MUTE button that mutes the microphone when required.
32-bit float audio
The Interview PRO is also the world’s first handheld transmitter to deliver 32-bit floating point audio. The advantage: as long as the maximum SPL of 122 dB is not exceeded, it is practically impossible to distort the signal by digital clipping. Very loud passages with flattened peaks can later be balanced in a 32-bit-float-compatible DAW during post production by normalising.
Power and digital output
The Interview PRO has a built-in lithium-ion battery that allows up to 30 hours of operation. A USB-C port is recessed in the microphone base for charging the battery. The digital output of the on-board recording is also provided via this port; a SuperSpeed USB cable is included for this purpose. Digital audio transfer requires Windows 10, macOS 11, Android 11 or iOS 14.
Scope of delivery
The Interview PRO is supplied with a foam windscreen/pop filter, a mic clip, a zip case and a SuperSpeed USB cable (USB-C to USB-C). Note: no receiver is included in the scope of delivery; without a Wireless ME, Wireless GO II, Wireless PRO or a RØDECaster DUO, RØDECaster Pro II or Streamer X the Interview PRO cannot be used as part of a wireless system. Operation as a handheld recorder is, however, possible at any time.

Innovation from Australia
RØDE is an Australian manufacturer of microphones and audio accessories based in Sydney. The company was founded in 1967 and has developed since the 1990s into one of the world’s leading brands in recording, broadcast and content‑creation audio.
RØDE became internationally known above all for its large‑diaphragm condenser microphones, which made professional sound quality available at an attractive price. Models like the NT1 or NT1‑A quickly established themselves in the home and project studio sector and remain a staple of many music and speech productions to this day.
Over the years RØDE has continuously expanded its range. In addition to studio condenser microphones, the portfolio today also includes dynamic microphones, broadcast and podcast microphones, video and camera microphones, lavalier and wireless systems as well as extensive accessories. Especially in the areas of content creation, streaming and mobile recording, RØDE offers practical solutions for modern production environments.
A central feature of the brand is the close linkage of technical development, manufacturing expertise and quality control at its Australian site. RØDE relies on modern production processes and high quality standards, which is reflected in the longevity and reliability of its products.
Today RØDE microphones are used worldwide in home studios, professional recording studios, broadcasting organisations and by content creators. The brand stands for reliable audio quality, innovative technologies and strong value for money.
