The Family Series is Ortega's entry level line. It includes concert guitars from the small 1/4 to the large 4/4, available in various finishes. The R121 series always has a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The R122, on the other hand, has a cedar top paired with mahogany back/sides.

Ortega Guitars was founded in Germany in 1994 and has combined modern design with authentic, traditional methods of classical guitar building. The company is particularly known for its concert guitars, but has since made a name for itself in many other areas of acoustic music. A cornerstone of Ortega Guitars was and still is the construction of guitars in traditional Spanish-style build, regarded as the highest-quality construction method. In addition to further developing this construction style, various designs and features were experimented with and the instruments have steadily improved. Ortega Guitars always takes its cue from the wishes of its customers and from the artists who play Ortega instruments. Over the past 25 years the product range has therefore expanded considerably. Today music enthusiasts can choose from a wide variety of stringed instruments such as ukuleles, acoustic basses, mandolins and banjos. Of course smaller guitars such as 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 models for children are also part of the range.
The latest innovations from Ortega include, among other things, the digital stompboxes Horse Kick Pro and Quantum Loop, the Keiki-Series ukuleles for very young musicians and a system specifically for the amplification of acoustic guitars consisting of the head unit H ONE and the matching speaker cabinets S ONE and S TWO. With so much innovation and customer focus it is no surprise that many artists have chosen Ortega guitars and play them in everyday life and on stage. Among the best-known artists with signature instruments from Ortega Guitars are Thomas Zwijsen, Ben Woods, Javier Reyes and Ken Taylor.

Une des rares guitares classiques 7/8 pour gaucher du marché . Bonne finition pour une guitare à moins de 250 €. Le tross rod a quand même été utile pour corriger un peu le manche et la tendance à "friser" sur les 2° et 3°frètes . Guitare légère permettant de jouer assez longtemps sans fatigue du dos. La projection du son n'est pas énorme, probablement à cause de la construction en laminé, mais on peut l'améliorer en montant des cordes de meilleure qualité (Savarez Prodige 58 adaptées à la taille 7/8, par exemple) . Housse correcte. Au total, bon rapport qualité/prix pour une guitare d'étude d'entrée de gamme pour gaucher-ère.
