The Meinl Percussion Kick Drum Cajon is built to function just like a real kick drum. Fundamentally it is a standard cajon made from Baltic birch without a cajon snare system or snare strings, which results in a pure kick sound. The cajon features two mounting points, a cymbal arm and a Z-shaped percussion rod. These can be used to add instruments such as a closed hi-hat or a Meinl cajon snare. For an authentic kick-drum feel and sound there is a solid metal base plate to secure the pedal and a special playing surface for the Kick Drum Cajon that produces stronger bass. This surface is played using the included Meinl Soft Foam Cajon Beater (CPB4).
