The electric guitars of the J‑Custom series are the ultimate from Ibanez.
The first J‑Custom models were introduced in 1996. Since then the guitars have been crafted by master luthiers in Japan. The letter "J" in the J‑Custom designation stands for the country of manufacture and distinguishes this model line from the USA Custom series of the early 1990s, which it essentially replaced. The J‑Custom series consists of the highest‑quality instruments Ibanez sells, which is reflected both in the components used and in the workmanship.
The J‑Custom models feature premium appointments such as tops made from exotic woods and elaborate fretboard inlays. They are generally produced in very small numbers and are often the masterpiece of a single luthier.
