Ideal for mobile and home studio applications, sound reinforcement, multimedia, or post-production work, the Mackie 802-VLZ3 is a rugged mixer featuring three of Mackie's acclaimed, studio-grade XDR2 mic preamps for great sound, as well as line inputs to accommodate nearly any input requirement. A 3-band musical EQ section with mid-frequency control helps you dial in the sound that's right, while you keep an eye on your level with the Mackie 802-VLZ3 12-segment stereo meters. With the same rugged chassis, and low noise, high-headroom design that made famous by the Mackie VLZ3 series, you get high-end control at a price that won't break your budget when you order a Mackie 802-VLZ3 mixer! Professional sound starts with professional mic pres, which is why Mackie put a lot of effort in designing the Mackie 802-VLZ3 XDR2 Extended Dynamic Range mic preamps. Delivering pure, clean, studio-grade sound, the XDR2 mic pres have an impressively wide frequency range, especially in the low end, and even at extremely high gain settings. Switchable 48V phantom power means you can use condensor microphones with the Mackie 802-VLZ3 and expect incredible, high-quality sound. The Mackie 802-VLZ3 mixer features an ultra-musical 3-band active EQ for tweaking your mix. Mackie spent effort optimizing the center frequencies of these EQs, and it shows on the 802-VLZ3: enjoy low shelving at 80Hz, mid-peaking at 2.5kHz, and high shelving at 12kHz to shape your sound in any direction. Up to 15dB boost/cut per band gives flexibility, and the useful 100Hz low cut/high pass switch on each mic input can save your mix from low-frequency muddiness. Weighing five and a half pounds with its power supply, the Mackie 802-VLZ3 mixer is light enough to fit in your backpack, yet delivers a range of inputs and outputs to accommodate nearly any configuration. Two switchable Hi-Z direct instrument inputs on channels 1 and 2 mean you can plug your electric guitar or bass in directly without the need for a DI box, or, when disengaged, connect keyboards, CD, or MP3 players, any line level source. Plug a stereo microphone into the 802-VLZ3 mic inputs, and record with amazing clarity onto your location recording device. You can even run the tape outputs into your laptop's stereo inputs and use the bundled Tracktion sequencing software to capture your sound for later mixing and editing. The Mackie 802-VLZ3 includes essential engineering features like separate control room volume and phones knobs, a clever Mute function, where signals from muted channels are secretly routed to the Alt 3-4 outputs and also into the Control Room section, ideal for creating submixes, previewing channels, or creating a "mix minus" for broadcast applications. With Mackie's legendary solid-steel chassis that protects it from any tough knocks, the Mackie 802-VLZ3 control knobs even sit just above the surface of the chassis, transferring potential impact to the chassis, not to the circuit board. Thick, horizontally mounted fiberglass PC circuit boards add to the 802-VLZ3's brick-like construction, giving it a shock-absorbing support structure that's truly built to last. Tracktion, bundled with the Mackie 802-VLZ3 mixer, is a powerful audio production and MIDI sequencing application, designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. Tracktion can be easily loaded onto your PC or Mac, and configured for your system. It is capable of delivering professional results that only a few years ago would have required a significant investment in expensive hardware.
