With the Tri Parallel Mixer the clever freaks from Electro Harmnonix have another clever tool for the pedalboard in their program. The Tri Parallel Mixer has various applications, in the first place you can mix 3 FX loops with the unit and use them in parallel. This sounds unspectacular at first, but it is very cool - effects sound different in parallel mode than in normal serial mode - e. g. a delay, a reverb and a modulation effect can be mixed steplessly - complex ambient carpets are created - the 3 pedals act as a unit. Each FX loop has adjustable send and return, as well as an EQ to adjust the sound of the effect signal. The phase of the loop can be rotated by 180° to either eliminate phase loss or to create interesting sound variations. The footswitches can be configured in different ways, besides Loop On/Off various other switching functions are possible. The Tri Parallel Mixer keeps the last setting even after switching off the unit. The possible applications are manifold: mixing single loops, parallel FX Loop, as input mixer (3 signals on one amp), one signal on 2 amps. A cool variation is to mix e. g. 2 different distortion pedals, which makes interesting sounds possible especially in parallel operation.
