Larry diMarzio's Superdistortion humbucker was the first replacement - pickup, which was made available to a broad market in the 70s,. With almost twice as much output as a normal humbucker, he laid the foundation for a now almost infinitely appearing range of exchange - pickups, with which the inclined guitarist can fine tune the sound of his instrument. In addition to the comprehensive range of replacements DiMarzio pickups are found as standard on Fender, Ibanez or MusicMan guitars.

Achat à l’occasion des promos du black friday pour upgrader des micros un peu fades d’une Ibanez RG premium et associé à un DP103. Que du bonheur la guitare a retrouvé une seconde vie. Superbe définition et son péchu. Les différentes possibilités de câblage, bien documentées par ailleurs, élargissent son usage. (J’ai testé le split des bobines, ce n’est pas sa vocation première et le son obtenu sur ma guitare ne m’a pas convaincu mais ça c’est un ressenti personnel et de toute façon pas la configuration définitive).
