The semi-acoustic design offers the best of both worlds. On the one hand it produces an acoustically inspired, open and transparent sound that only a large resonant cavity like the one inside a Capitol '59 can create. On the other hand, a centre block integrated into the body ensures that you can enjoy this sound even at high stage volumes without your performance being ruined by feedback or distortion.

The Maybach Capitol '59 stands in the tradition of the 1959 model year, undoubtedly the finest vintage of this guitar type. The historically correct arching of the maple top and back, the appropriate shape of the two cutaways, the F-holes in traditionally precise form and the set-in mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard promise nothing but the best at first glance. That impression is confirmed when the late-'50s neck profile of the Capitol '59 gently fits into your hand. The icing on the cake is the excellent Spirit of '59 pickups by the German maker Amber, which perfect the vintage tone.

Maybach finishes all instruments in the Capitol series with nitro lacquer, which allows the body wood of the semi-acoustic guitar to breathe and ages far more beautifully than polyurethane finishes. For this guitar icon, classic, slightly aged colours such as Pelham Blue, Cherry and Black were chosen. Every instrument in the Capitol series is delivered in a luxurious Maybach wooden case.
