The R4 MultiTrak is the world's first portable compact studio to support 32-bit float audio technology. The R4 is based on Zoom's popular handheld design and gives musicians and songwriters an enticing new mobile device for multitrack recording—whether you're capturing a demo or producing with professional audio quality—with the huge advantage of overload-free recordings.
RECORD. BOUNCE. REPEAT.
With the R4 you can record up to four tracks, mix them and then bounce them to the separate "Bounce Track". That frees up additional tracks so you can add more layers. You can also undo the last "bounce" to refine your mix or create new bounces as needed.
32-BIT FLOAT RECORDING
You don't need to worry about clipping your audio signals: the R4 delivers perfect results on every take without you having to re‑set the gain.
COMBO INPUTS
The R4 features two XLR/TS combo inputs with Zoom's trusted preamps. You can connect microphones, instruments, keyboards and more.
Track effects
Each track has a 3-band EQ, pan, echo and reverb to refine your mix.

BUILT-IN MICROPHONE
The R4 provides a built-in high-quality microphone that’s perfect for recording acoustic guitar or vocals and for quickly capturing a reference take.
MORE THAN A METRONOME
The R4 integrates a rhythm section with 40 built-in drum patterns for genres like rock, hip‑hop, funk, heavy metal and more.
EVERY TAKE IS SAVED
Recorded tracks are automatically saved individually, even after they've been bounced. These tracks, like other audio files, can be loaded into a project on the R4.
32-BIT FLOAT AUDIO INTERFACE
The R4 is also a powerful USB audio interface with 32-bit float technology and two inputs and outputs. You can connect it to your computer or your smartphone.
CONTROL AND CREATIVITY
