Digital 2-channel wireless microphone system

Alongside spectacular technical features, the Wireless PRO impresses with its included original accessories, which alone are worth EUR 388.00. Wireless PRO is versatile and compatible with cameras, iPhone®, smartphone, Mac and PC – the appropriate USB cables are included. Wireless PRO is ideal for interviews and other situations where two sound sources need to be recorded simultaneously and separately.

The small transmitter modules can be conveniently attached to clothing with their clip or to a belt if you prefer to use the supplied Lavalier II microphones. The output at the receiver is two-channel, either analogue via the 3,5 mm TRRS jack or digital via USB-C. If you output audio via USB-C, you can connect a standard headset to the receiver. This not only allows monitoring but also simultaneous recording of a third microphone signal.

The sound quality is top-class both analogue and digital: crystal-clear and broadcast-ready. Transmitters and receiver have internal batteries that last up to 7 hours. RØDE uses the licence- and registration-free 2.4 GHz band for radio transmission. The Wireless PRO transmitters have a range of 260 (!) metres in line of sight.

The transmitter modules (TX)
Each of the two 4x4 cm transmitter modules already contains a high-quality microphone optimised for speech transmission. With the clip on the back the transmitter module can be comfortably attached to clothing. If the transmitter module is visually too conspicuous, you can use the side 3,5 mm TRS jack to connect an external microphone – for example the supplied Lavalier II.

GainAssist technology
Very helpful is GainAssist, an intelligent gain-automation that continuously adapts the internal gain setting in the transmitter module to the respective sound source. This protects you from surprises and ensures the audio signal is always transmitted at a healthy level with maximum intelligibility.

Recording in the transmitter module, 32 Bit Float audio
Wireless PRO offers a recording function directly in the transmitter module and provides an internal 32 GB audio memory for this purpose, which is enough for more than 40 hours. Recording is uncompressed as WAV files. Wireless PRO is also the world’s first wireless system to deliver 32 Bit Floating Point audio. The advantage: as long as you don't exceed the maximum SPL of 123 dB, it is practically impossible to distort the signal by digital clipping. Very loud passages with flattened peaks can be adjusted afterwards in post-production in a DAW that supports 32 Bit Float by normalising.

SMPTE timecode generator
Wireless PRO uses SMPTE timecode with LTC encoding. The receiver module always acts as master, automatically transmitting the timecode to the transmitter modules and outputting it as an audio signal on the right channel. With the configuration software RØDE Central you can set the required frame rate (23.98 fps, 24 fps, 25 fps, 29.97 drop frame, 29.97 or 30 fps) and the desired mode (Real Time or Continuous).

The receiver module (RX)
The receiver module can be conveniently attached to a camera shoe. Using the supplied coiled cable you connect the module to the camera's 3,5 mm microphone input. Via the supplied USB cable the signal can also be output digitally to a computer or a smart- or iPhone®. In this case you can use the four-pole TRRS jack on the module to connect a headset, which allows monitoring and simultaneous recording of a third microphone signal. It is also possible to set whether the transmitter signals should be output separately (Split) or merged (Merge).

Lavalier II
Two premium lapel microphones, the Lavalier II, are included in the scope of delivery. With its flat frequency response, gentle presence boost and uncoloured sound character, the Lavalier II delivers outstanding audio quality and suits practically every speaker type. The microphone is connected via its high-quality 1.2 m flat cable. The 3.5 mm plug has a threaded locking nut so it can be screwed into the transmitter module's microphone input.  

Accessories
To be mobile and flexible, the three modules are supplied in a classy charge case whose battery capacity is 4500 mAh, allowing the modules to be fully recharged twice. On the back of the case is the USB-C port and next to it a charge status LED with a check button. A second, externally identical case is used for transporting the remaining accessories: 2x Lavalier II microphone, 2x MagClip GO magnetic mounts, 5 windshields, a USB-C to Lightning cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable and a SuperSpeed USB-C to USB-C cable.
