Ortega Guitars was founded in Germany in 1994 and has combined modern design with authentic, traditional methods of classical guitar building. The company is particularly known for its concert guitars, but has since made a name for itself in many other areas of acoustic music. The initial aim of the newly founded guitar company was to produce guitars that anyone can play and afford. From that starting point Ortega Guitars has grown from a small German guitar brand into a true global player with distribution partners around the world.
A cornerstone of Ortega Guitars was and still is the construction of guitars in traditional Spanish-style build, regarded as the highest-quality construction method. In addition to further developing this construction style, various designs and features were experimented with and the instruments have steadily improved. Ortega Guitars always takes its cue from the wishes of its customers and from the artists who play Ortega instruments. Over the past 25 years the product range has therefore expanded considerably. Ich bin Anfängerin und habe keinen Vergleich, bin aber total zufrieden mit dem Instrument. Das integrierte Stimmgerät ist praktisch.
Nach vielen Jahren Gitarre spielen mal was Neues. Die Baritonukulele hat den Vorteil, dass ma als Gitarrist nicht groß umdenken muss, d.h. die meisten Akkorde leiten sich von den Gitarrenakkorden ab. Nun zum Instrument: Boden, Zarge und Decke kommen in Mattlackierung daher, was aber dem wertigen Aussehen keinen Abruch tut. Sehr schöne Bindings an Decke und Boden. Eine nette Lasergravur auf der Decke lässt das Instrument edel aussehen. Unverstärkt ist der Sound gut; klarer voller Klang und kein scheppern der Saiten. Die Seitenlage ist ganz ok., obwohl ich keinen Vergleich zu anderen Ukulelen habe. Einzig die H-Saite musste in den ersten Tagen ständig nachgestimmt werden. Ist jetzt nach ca. drei Wochen besser geworden. Mal sehen, wie es nach dem Aufziehen von neuen Saiten damit aussieht. Klarer Pluspunkt: das eingebaute Stimmgerät. Verstärkt spiele ich das Instrument meist über eine Bose S1. Allein schon mit etwas Hall aus der Box gibt es einen sehr schönen Klang. Habe zwischenzeitlich auch mit verschiedenen Effekten wie Chorus, Delay, Flange und Tremolo experimentiert, wobei ich auf Flange und Tremolo als erstes verzichten könnte. Zum Betrieb des Tonabnehmers werden zwei 2032er Knopfzellen benötigt. Nach einer Nacht vergessenem eingesteckten Kabel waren die Batterien natürlich abgeladen. Wie lange diese bei normalem Spielbetrieb durchhalten, weiß ich noch nicht. Aber der Austausch der Zellen geht blitzschnell und man sollte ohnehin sicherheitshalber Ersatz dabei haben. Ich habe bis jetzt viel Freude an dem Instrument, und ich freue mich, dass ich in meinem etwas fortgeschrittenem Alter noch mal was Neues probiert habe. Gerade jetzt in Zeiten der Pandemie eine gute Möglichkeit, sich und seine Lieben mit netter Musik zu erfreuen. By the way: Weihnachtslieder kommen auf der Ukulele auch sehr gut. Wer Interesse an der Ukulele hat, sollte nicht versäumen, auf YT mal nach Taimane Gardner, Kris Fuchigami oder Brittni Paiva zu suchen.
