The perfect entry-level microphone
The TLM 102 is Neumann's most affordable large diaphragm condenser microphone. Nevertheless, it is a genuine Neumann microphone, with every detail taken into account during its development. And of course the TLM 102 is also manufactured in Germany. It may be somewhat smaller on the outside than more expensive models, but no compromises have been made in terms of sound quality. The look also radiates this quality: Between the classically bevelled microphone grille and the famous Neumann rhombus, a shiny chrome ring adds a visual accent.

The TLM 102 sounds as high-quality as it looks! The newly developed large-diaphragm condenser capsule has all the qualities that have made Neumann microphones the first choice worldwide: clear, focussed sound with excellent definition. Due to its remarkable linearity across the entire mid-frequency range, it captures the character of every voice and instrument with great authenticity, while a moderate treble boost at 10 kHz ensures silky highs. The TLM 102 has a clear, yet sonorous bass that can be further enhanced by the highly controllable proximity effect. A joy for every singer!
The TLM 102 also impresses from a technical point of view. Its self-noise level of just 12 dB-A is far below room noise, even in very quiet environments. At the same time, the TLM 102 can handle extreme sound pressure levels of up to 144 dB without distortion. Like all microphones in the TLM series, the TLM 102 works with a highly developed electronically balanced output stage, which ensures a very direct sound without transmission losses and guarantees a powerful bass even at the highest levels.
Big sound for small studios
Its enormous dynamic range of 132 dB and the remarkably even cardioid polar pattern make the TLM 102 extremely easy to handle. This makes it particularly suitable for home and project studios as well as for demanding live applications. With its pristine sound and high impulse fidelity, the TLM 102 is an excellent choice for vocalists, but also for a wide range of instruments such as acoustic and electric guitar, electric bass and double bass, drums, percussion, brass, saxophone and many more.
