Dig deeper is the motto of Electro Harmonix — from the Big Muff II, the dual OP-amp Muff whose circuit was discovered in Bob Myer’s legendary garage workshop by Josh Scott (JHS), there is also a bass version: the Nano Bass Big Muff 2 PI. Extended bass range, switchable bass boost and a blend control that lets you mix in the dry signal so that even during the fiercest fuzz storms the attack and transparency are preserved. The true bypass switching is implemented via a relay soft-touch footswitch, which can also be operated as a momentary switch.

Comprato per sostituire un Big Muff Pi Sovtek Deluxe, che nonostante fosse per chitarra mi ha dato belle soddisfazione anche se usato su basso. Questo Big Muff Pi 2 é tutto un’altra questione, il doppio Op-Amp dona un suono bello carico di basse/medio-basse senza scaricare troppo quelle frequenze che solitamente un fuzz si mangia via. Anche la versione per chitarra, quello rosso per intenderci, lo trovo molto più adatto al basso perché scurisce troppo le chitarre, sopratutto quelle con humbucker. In ogni caso questo pedale é consigliatissimo!
