An even more powerful experience
Tactile control provides an impressively creative Ableton Live experience. APC Mini features nine faders for adjusting volume, panning, insert effect sends and more, for elegant, intuitive control of your sessions. Tweak reverbs and filter sweeps or write automation to bring your music to life. Shape your sounds on the spot with the assignable fader controls.
Precise, intuitive control
Effortlessly create your own distinctive sounds. In Device Mode the APC Mini faders are automatically assigned to the eight macro controls of the device selected by Ableton Live. Control multiple parameters with one fader to generate truly innovative sounds. Soft Keys give you even more control, for quick access to Solo, Mute, Stop and Record‑Arm functions.
Drum mode for Ableton Drum Rack
The Drum Mode provides seamless integration with Ableton Drum Rack by isolating a 4x4 quadrant of the APC Mini to control Ableton while you can continue to assign the remaining pads. This enables ultra‑customisable pad layouts and a performance as inventive as it is creative — something not possible with another APC controller.
Change scale and key in real time
The Smart Scale View mode provides unprecedented visual feedback and instant changes of keys and scales on any compact Ableton controller. In this mode the currently selected key is also visible on the pads so you know which scale you’re in. Notes Mode provides a new performance workflow and lets you play music in Ableton in the perfect pitch without hitting the wrong notes.

AKAI PROFESSIONAL
The music division of AKAI PROFESSIONAL became known for its S/Z series samplers. Some will recognise the rack samplers S612, S900 through to S6000, Z4 and Z8. More decisive and influential for generations, however, were the models of the MPC series – originally called the MIDI Production Center.
MPC – the birth of a legend
Today MPC stands for Music Production Center. The concept of these workstations has endured: an instrument that combines sampling with a sequencer. American designer Roger Linn developed the MPC-60 with AKAI PROFESSIONAL. The model was released on 8 December 1988 and cost $5,000. Further developments followed with the MPC-60 MKII and the MPC-3000 in 1994. Producers and DJs swore by the unmistakable sound and the unique MPC groove. The units became mythical. Roger Linn ended his collaboration with AKAI PROFESSIONAL. In 1997 the MPC-2000 (XL) hit the market, followed by the MPC-1000, the 2500 and the flagship MPC-4000. To provide a similar workflow for computer-based music production, AKAI PROFESSIONAL expanded their product range with controllers such as the MPD16, MPD24, MPK49, APC40, and MPD218 MPD232.
The Music Production Center today
The current MPC models go by names like Touch, Studio Black, One, Live and X. What they all share are the legendary 16 pads for inputting beats and melodies. The units now also feature touch-sensitive displays. Slicing and editing becomes child’s play! The standalone units offer variable core sounds and different control options as well as a variety of connections depending on the size.
What products does AKAI PROFESSIONAL offer?
Besides the famous MPC models, AKAI PROFESSIONAL offers numerous MIDI controllers as master keyboards or pad versions. Whether in mini or full-size key formats, there is a large selection of keyboard controllers. If the supplied sound selection isn't enough, countless expansion packs can provide additional ideas. Not into hardware? With software solutions for PC and mobile devices, AKAI PROFESSIONAL leaves nothing to be desired and offers everyone a suitable tool for producing. In the area of electronic wind instruments, AKAI PROFESSIONAL offers the EWI series from their own range. Even though this product group is far from the core assortment, it demonstrates the company's inventiveness and innovative capability.
AKAI PROFESSIONAL Software 2 as a complete DAW solution
With MPC Software 2, AKAI PROFESSIONAL takes their heavyweight production hub to a new level.
