La storia affascinante di Native Instruments inizia, come per molte grandi aziende software, con una piccola idea appassionata. Fondata da Stephan Schmitt, un talentuoso musicista e ingegnere, e dal suo amico Volker Hinz, un esperto programmatore, l'azienda nacque nelle creative strade di Berlin Kreuzberg. Qui svilupparono il primo sintetizzatore modulare software al mondo, il Generator. Questo strumento innovativo basato su software fece scalpore alla Frankfurter Musikmesse e entusiasmò musicisti e produttori grazie alla possibilità di calcolare e riprodurre i suoni in tempo reale – una novità assoluta!
Nell'anno di fondazione, il 1996, Native Instruments iniziò la sua rivoluzione nel campo degli strumenti software con appena quattro dipendenti. Uno dei primi e più importanti prodotti fu Reaktor, un versatile plugin che funziona come sequencer, sampler, sintetizzatore e processore di effetti. Si è affermato come standard di settore e continua a ispirare gli sperimentatori del suono in tutto il mondo. IMO If you have some decent audio interface and 88 keys setup you're in love with, i'd highly recommend to save some money and go with Mikro MK3 and KK A25 to just control your plugins and DAW easier (vs Maschine MK3 and higher models of A series or S series, except S88 probably). You can use 2 midi inputs to play the same instrument: in this case A25 would handle virtual instrument settings via knobs and your big keyboard do the main job, i.e. play on it w/o limits of 25/49/61keys. Just saying although this midi keyboard made great and works great, feel of semi-weighted keyboard is far not the same as weighted one (i've heard that even s88 provides some annoying plastic clicking sound when you play on it), and if you're looking for some tool to play on i'd highly recommend to go with some decent yamaha/kawai with 88 weighted keys setup. On other hand i can also use a25 with (or without) maschine micro mk3 as quite portable "on go" setup. Again together they are just amazing combo if you have audio interface. Love it!
