In the studio a distinction is made between active and passive studio monitor models. Today, the active models have taken over such a large dominance that we have placed our focus on it. Compared with a hi-fi speaker in the studio, it's not about giving the listener a good, pleasant sound, but to allow a possible magnification of the real and existing audio material. The studio monitor is practically a musical instrument for the ear and the last link in the recording chain. If this is of inferior quality, the best of equipment won’t help you either.
