Roland FANTOM 6 · Synthesizer
After many years the long wait is over, there is another top workstation from Roland. The new Roland FANTOM series is available with 61 and 76 synth keyboard or with the well known PHA-50 piano keyboard with 88 keys. The FANTOM has 16 zones. Per zone one sound including effects can be used, which can be freely placed on the keyboard. So you can distribute different sounds to different keyboard areas, or layer all sounds on top of each other. All 16 zones together are called Scene. It should be emphasized that there are no sound interruptions while switching the scenes. You can switch seamlessly between the sounds. Everything can be easily managed via the large color touch display and settings such as keyboard splits, velocity settings and much more can be edited quickly and easily. Synth enthusiasts will be pleased to know that a control panel with direct access to the oscillator, filters, envelopes and effects is also directly accessible. The Motional Pad mode is available for further sound shaping. Here you can morph between different sounds directly on the touch display. Samples and loops can be controlled via the 16 illuminated pads. The Rythm Pattern section provides the right groove. Here the user can choose between different rhythm patterns with intro, verses, fills and endings. Another highlight is the really easy to use pattern sequencer. Here you can quickly and easily create your own patterns and switch and arrange them in a creative way. In addition to the Pad section, Rhythm Pattern and Pattern Mode, the Roland FANTOM features the TR-Drum section, which is already known from the Roland DJ series. Beside all the synth functions there is also a wide range of "natural sounds" like piano organ, strings, brass and co. For the piano even the technology from Roland's legendary V-piano is used. Here you can access various parameters and adjust your piano sound according to your wishes. In addition to parameters such as string resonance, damper resonance and the position of the lid, you can set values (even per key) such as volume or tuning.
