The Strymon EC-1 is dedicated to the classic 1-head delays of the 60s. The delay time is varied by moving the tape head – a legendary representative of this species is the Echoplex Delay – and can be found with various top acts of the 60s and 70s. The Strymon EC-1 Single Head dTape Echo simulates these classic sounds brilliantly – the tape saturation can be influenced by a 3-stage JFET input stage, from crystal clear to dirty and distorted. The typical wow and flutter and mechanical wear effects are also reproduced deceptively. The dTape technology, already known from the El Capistan, enables authentic tape echo sounds. Stereo (TRS in and outputs) or mono operation, TRS MIDI with up to 300 user presets, MIDI clock synchronization and USB C interface.
