Crash Cymbals are thinner and smaller compared to a Ride Cymbal. Typical sizes are between 14" and 20". Larger and smaller models do also exist. Crash Cymbals are responsible for the drum accents. Their sound is more noise-like. An effective crescendo effect can be realised in combination with a light felt head mallet very effectively.
